Labiaplasty is a procedure to reduce the size of the labia minora (the inner lips of the vulva). It can address both cosmetic concerns and physical discomfort caused by enlarged or asymmetric labia. The procedure is straightforward, with a high satisfaction rate and a low revision rate.

What Does the Procedure Involve?
We use the wedge excision technique, which preserves the natural edge of the labia and results in hidden scars. This technique maintains the sensitive areas while reducing tissue that protrudes beyond the labia majora.
A female member of staff will be present during your examination. Before-and-after photographs are available during your consultation to help you understand the expected outcome.
Risks & Considerations
- ⚠Bleeding: Minor spotting is expected; significant bleeding is rare
- ⚠Swelling: Expected and varies; settles over 10-14 days
- ⚠Infection: Relatively uncommon
- ⚠Delayed wound healing: Uncommon
- ⚠Scarring: Relatively hidden using the wedge technique
- ⚠Sensitive scars: Rare; usually improves over time
- ⚠Under- or over-correction: Uncommon with experienced surgical technique
- ⚠Asymmetry: Minor degrees are expected
- ⚠Revision surgery: Less than 5% of patients
Recovery Overview
Days 1-3
Rest at home. Mild discomfort managed with painkillers. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Days 4-10
Swelling gradually settles. Most patients feel comfortable returning to work by day 7-10.
3-4 weeks
Resume exercise and strenuous activities.
6 weeks
Resume all activities, including intimate activities.
