What Does the Procedure Involve?
Rhinoplasty uses two main surgical approaches: open and closed techniques. The open approach involves a small incision across the columella (the tissue between the nostrils), allowing direct visualization of nasal structures. The closed approach uses internal incisions, leaving no visible scars, though it provides less visibility during surgery.
During the procedure, your surgeon carefully reshapes the bone and cartilage to achieve the desired nasal profile. Changes may include reducing a dorsal hump, refining the nasal tip, adjusting the bridge, or improving nasal function. Risks & Considerations

Recovery Overview

Splint worn to protect your nose during initial healing. Swelling and bruising peak during this period. Plan time away from work.

Splint removed at one-week appointment. Stitches reviewed and assessed. Continue avoiding strenuous activity.
Weeks 2-3
Return to desk work if comfortable. Most visible swelling subsides by end of week three. Avoid strenuous activity.
4-6 weeks
Resume gentle exercise gradually as advised. Avoid contact sports and strenuous activities. Listen to your body.
3 months
Most swelling has resolved and nasal structure settles. Tip continues to refine as healing progresses. Final shape emerging.
6-12 months
Final nasal shape fully emerges as tip refines and all swelling completely resolves. Full results visible.
